Dear Nobles,

The Central States Association of Shrine Motor Corps 2004 Mid-Winter Meeting will be held on April 8-10, 2004 in Denver, CO.  Chuck and Bonnie Petersen have made arrangements at the Renaissance Denver Hotel to host the events  Room Reservation may be made directly with the hotel by calling 1-888-238-6762.  The room rate is $74.00 per night and includes breakfast for two in The Brasserie Restaurant.  When making your reservation, let them know you are with CSASMC to receive the quoted room rate.  Room reservations need to be made by March 15 to guarantee the room rate.

CSASMC and IASMC will be holding their respective Mid-Winter Meeting events together at the same hotel.  All social activities will be held together with each Association holding their separate meetings.

The hospitality room will be shared between Associations and will open Friday and remain open the entire weekend except during meetings.

For those arriving on Thursday, dinner arrangement have been made at Emil-Lenes Steak House for those interested.  On Friday at 1:30, Bonnie Petersen has made arrangements for a tour of the Molly Brown House in downtown Denver.  The cost is $6.50 and transportation will be provided.  Also on Friday night, a shuttle to Black Hawk gambling casinos is available.  On Saturday morning, CSASMC will hold their Mid-Winter Meeting.  For the Ladies, there is a trip to Celestial Seasonings Tea Company for a tour/tasting/shopping, followed by lunch at the Boulder Dashanbe Teahouse at noon and shopping at the Boulder Street Mall.  All transportation will be provided.  The IASMC will hold their Mid-Winter Meeting on Saturday afternoon.  The Banquet and Installation of Officers will be held Saturday night at the hotel.

The CSASMC Mid-Winter Meeting will be held on Saturday at 9:00am at the hotel.  There will be a brief break at 10:30 with coffee and rolls.  If any member would like any subject discussed at the meeting please let the Secretary know so you may be placed on the agenda and President Petersen will call upon you at the proper time.  Please keep in mind you may bring up any subject for discussion, even if it is not on the agenda.  Any By-Law changes must be submitted to the Secretary at least 30 days prior to the meeting in order to be voted on at the meeting.

The trailer fund that was started last year now has a balance of $4,917.00, which should be enough to make a purchase of a new trailer.  If any member knows of a trailer supplier that is willing to quote a price on a trailer, please bring it to the meeting for consideration.  The trailer should be 12' long with a "V" nose, tandem axels with brakes preferably on both axels, enclosed wheels with a width of less than 8', two swinging rear doors and two side entry doors.

The trailer fund was started at our last Mid-Winter Meeting by a suggestion by Dub Garner to ask each member Unit to donate $100.00.  He then personally donated the first $100.00 to start the fund.  Dub has for many years attended our Mid-Winter Meetings and Competition.  Every CSASMC President could always count on him to be there to help set up the Competition fields on Thursday and help in any way on Friday, usually as a judge.  Dub was Paste Potentate of Karem Temple in Waco, Texas, Past President of Texas Motor Corp, and a Past President of the International Association of Shrine Motor Corps.  Dub was presented with a Life Membership in CSASMC in 2001 for his dedication and support to our Association.  It is with deepest regrets that I inform you that Illustrious Sir C. M. "Dub" Garner passed away on January 28, 2004.  His family asks that all memorials be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
