CENTRAL STATES ASSOCIATION OF SHRINE MOTOR CORPS

FALL EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING

SEPTEMBER 12, 2002

OMAHA, NEBRASKA

The meeting was called to order by First Vice-President Chuck Petersen.
Chuck Petersen called upon the members of the Midian Divan to address the Executive Board with their concerns.  Illustrious Sir David A. Schopf and Assistant Rabban Jeff Sowder of Midian explained that they are speaking on behalf of all the Chief Rabbans and Assistant Rabbans within the Central States and asked that the Motor Corp consider the possibility of changing their Awards Banquet from Friday to Saturday night.  They explained that there are many Units that leave Central States after the Saturday parade and there might be a possibility that some of these Units may stay over Saturday night if the Motor Corp Awards Banquet were held on Saturday night.  It was requested that we bring this subject up at our next Mid-Winter Meeting and discuss all the pros and cons among our members to see if this is workable and agreeable with them.

President Jerry Ritchey called upon the Secretary to bring the Board up-to-date with membership figures and Competition registration.

Secretary Bradley Waite explained that our membership is up in numbers and that we have six new Units who have joined the Motor Corp will all six in Competition this year.  He also explained that we have more Units registered for Competition than we have ever had before.  The Show Car Competition has 151  cars registered, 48 more vehicles than ever before.  With these numbers registered, it would take over ten hours to complete the Show Car Competition and we also have a shortage of manpower to do these numbers.  In order to do this Competition in less than seven hours President Jerry Ritchey had to make some adjustments in Competition and the way that we will do judging in the Show Car competition.  The Show Car Competition will be done as follows:

1.  The Parade portion will be eliminated.
2.  The Parade field will be a second judging area for the cars and the Parade personnel along with a few more judges to judge Units on that field.
3.  There will be two judging fields.  One field will have Units that have vehicles judged in more than one class, (Antique Commercial, Special Interest, Modified) the other field will be used for Units that have vehicles in the Mustang and Convertible classes only.
4.  The Traveling trophy awarded in the Parade judging will be awarded to the Unit with the most vehicles judged.  The awarding of this trophy will be decided at the Mid-Winter Meeting.
5.  After the Mustang and Convertible classes are finished, this field will be used to judge the Motorcycle Show Class using the same judges.

Show Car and Motorcycle Show Competition should be completed by 2:00 P.M..  The Secretary reported that all Competition score sheets are made up and in individual envelopes as before.  The Obstacle Course sheets are also made up and packaged in separate envelopes.  All these sheets must be returned to the scoring trailer as soon as possible so we don't get behind in scoring.

President Ritchey went over the field assignments for the Officers and Past Presidents and asked that the Officers wives also help on the field.  He explained that we need to keep the Officers and Past Presidents at their assignments and not delivering and picking up score sheets.  He asked that they let their wives do this and help in passing out the sheets.  This will allow the Officers and Past Presidents to keep the Competition moving.  Janet Sides will be helping in the scoring trailer in place of Gloria Hull.

President Ritchey explained that the Awards Banquet is sold out to capacity and that the Sesostris Motor Corps Units will be taking tickets at the door and they have been instructed not to allow anyone into the room without a ticket.

Each Officer gave a brief update as to CSSA in their respective year.

President Ritchey announced that the new Motor Corp shirts are made up in the various styles and sizes and asked that Organizer James Tracy take charge of them for sale at the Meeting and at the drill field.

President Ritchey announced that the response to the Motorcycle Show Class was good and that all bikes will be judged on an individual basis with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies being awarded to those individuals.

There being no further business to conduct, the meeting was adjourned.

Respectively submitted,

Bradley Waite
Sec.- Treas. CSASMC
