SHOW CAR COMPETITION RULES
The types and classes of this Association do not necessarily follow
the rules of the Antique Car Clubs. The vehicles must be running
and drivable. No vehicles that are made up for show purposes only
will be allowed to compete. All vehicles must be as near to
original as possible, but need not to be "nit picking" of the
exact length of the original bolt of the original color or type radiator
hose.
Keep in mind that these vehicles are used in parades ard are judged
on the basis of "crowd pleasing appeal".
Classes: .
Antique: Any vehicle in this class must be at least
twenty-five (25) years old. No Commercial type vehicle may compete
in this class.
Special Interest: Any type vehicles may be placed in this
class except the Commercial type vehicle. This will be left to the
owner if he desires to be placed in this class, but he must make his
class known to the Officers before the judging starts and have time
to get his vehicle in the proper position for judging.
Commercial: This class is for any vehicle that had a
commercial type use, such as: trucks, fire engines, ambulance,
hearse, bus, etc. No automobiles are allowed in this class.
Modified Class (Street Rods): Any automobile that has
been altered from an original vehicle, that is state approved, licensed
and insured for street driving in the state the member resides can
compete. No vehicles that compete in other classes or commercial
vehicles may compete in this class.
Milestones: Recognized published list (attached)
Mustang: Self explanatory.
Convertible Class: Any Unit or Club that are strictly
convertible vehicles.
Show Car Competition - By - Laws
Any one Unit of a Temple may or can be in one or all five classes
if they desire, under the above rules. If there is more than one
vehicle from the same unit in any one class, their scores will be added
and then divided by the number of vehicles that were judged in that
one class, for an average score for the vehicles of that Unit.
The Show Cars will only compete against other Show Car vehicles and
will not be judged or compared with the motorcycles or vehicles who do
maneuvering competition.
The Show Car Vehicles will be judged on their own scoring sheets
and rules, and cannot enter into the competitive maneuvers or obstacle
course, unless the unit desires to do competitive drill and then in
this case they may do so but under the competitive drill and obstacle
course rules. No unit will be allowed to compete in both types of
competition. (I.e. Show Cars cannot compete in the drill maneuvers and
then also compete against other Show Cars in their competition.)
One half point bonus for each vehicle shown, over and above the
number of vehicles shown by a competing unit in the same class, will
be added to the averaged score of that unit and then be totaled
for a final score.. (I.e. 3 vehicles
vs. 18 vehicles, a bonus for 7.5 points will be added to the
Unit averaged score).
2000 RULE CHANGES
SHOW CAR COMPETITION:
The Show Car judging sheet had some point changes made in the point value in
different categories. In section A numbers 4 and 5 were deleted, section B
numbers 3 and 4 are combined and section D number 6 is deleted and a portion of
number 8 is deleted. A copy of the old score sheet along with the new revised
sheet are enclosed.
2002 RULE CHANGES
It was brought to the members attention that there are a few Units in the Show
Car Competition that are writing on their score sheets, declarations of defects
on their vehicles. Generally these are paint and windshield chips.
It was explained to the members that the ONLY items that can be declared, is
damage that occurred while in transit to Competition. If there is any other
defect, fix it or take your chances that the judges will make a deduction for
it.
Discussion was held on the possibility of having some kind of Competition for
Show Bikes similar to the Show Car Competition. It was decided that we
will hold Competition in a Show Bike Class and that since this is new, all
motorcycles will be shown in one general class and the President will determine
the judging method. Any member may enter any type and as many motorcycles
as they want to, including your Competitive Drill bide. Trophies will be
awarded to first, second and third place winners. This is a trial to a
possibly new classification and more discussion on this class will be held at
the next Mid-Winter Meeting.
A new Convertible class was added to the Show Car Competition as a possible
tool of adding new Units to the Motor Corp. This new class is for any Unit
or Club that is made up of convertibles only. If your Unit or Club is made
up of a variety of vehicles of which some are convertibles, those convertibles
will compete in the already existing classes. It was mentioned that only
about half of the Temples in Central States have motorized Units in Competition
even though they all have them and they do come to Central States. This
new Convertible Class was created as a target to the Divan of each member Temple
because this is generally the type of vehicle that they parade in at Central
States. This was presented to all the Potentates of Central States at the
CSSA Mid-Winter Meeting and was followed up to them and their Recorders with a
mailing of all information in regards to the Motor Corp.
