HOW TO GET A CHILD INTO THE
SHRINERS HOSPITAL

If you know a child who may be eligible to enter The Shriners Hospitals for Children, please call the phone number listed on this page or the Shrine office nearest you.

Q. Are The Shrine Hospitals a charity? Q. What is a Philanthropy?
A. No. The Shrine Hospitals are a Philanthropy. A. A philanthropy is giving help at special times. It's like friends helping friends.

Q. Does it cost the children, their parents, or their family anything? Q. I take care of my family. I have a job and own a home. If our child is helped, do I have to sign over any of my property--or anything?
A. NO! Not now. Not ever. A. NO! Not now. Not ever.

Q. Can a child living in the Hospital continue his/her education? Q. Is the education the children get as good as the public schools?
A. Yes. A. It's better, because it's more personal.

Q. Who do The Shrine Hospitals help? Q. How do they do that?
A. The Shrine Hospitals help children. A. By providing orthopaedic and severe burn services to children who need them.

Q. Are The Shriners Hospitals for Children any good? Q. Can a child be admitted to the Shriners Hospitals for Children if he/she is under the care of an Orthopaedic Specialist?
A. The Shriners Hospitals for Children are ranked among the best Orthopaedic Hospitals in the world. A. Yes. It's easy. Have your specialist call our Chief of Staff at 612-335-5300. We'll take it from there.

Q. How do I get a child into the Shriners Hospitals for Children? Q. When I call the Shrine Office nearest me, what happens next?
A. It's easy. Call the Shrine office in the city nearest you. A. A member of The Shrine will call you. He is a volunteer and he is dedicated to helping you.

Under the new rules, children up to the age of eighteen (18) can now be admitted to the Shriners Hospitals for Children!
